Wray discussed the region\u2019s biggest challenges and emphasized that a continued focus on partnerships was critical to staying ahead of the threat<\/p>\n

This week, FBI Director Christopher Wray visited the Burlington, Vermont; Bedford, New Hampshire; and Providence, Rhode Island, resident agencies. He met with employees, U.S. attorneys, and a number of key law enforcement, private sector, and community partners from across the region.<\/p>\n

During these partner meetings, Director Wray talked about the Bureau\u2019s work in the region and reaffirmed our commitment to supporting our state and local partners on issues such as violent crime, election security, threats to critical infrastructure, national security at the northern border, and emerging challenges, such as the impact of artificial intelligence on elder fraud and scams.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a country and as a profession, we\u2019re dealing with all sorts of challenges,\u201d Director Wray said. \u201cBut our partnerships\u2014with law enforcement, the private sector, and the communities we serve\u2014give me confidence that we can stay ahead of the threats out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Director Wray also pledged the FBI\u2019s intent to try to continue to support law enforcement partners through much-needed training, investigative services, and support, despite the increasingly limited budget environment, noting that \u201cmany people don\u2019t realize how integrated law enforcement is today across every level\u2014local, state, and federal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Director Wray routinely visits FBI field offices and resident agencies (RAs) across the country, and in his seventh year in the role, Director Wray has visited every field office twice and is currently in his third round of visiting every office.<\/p>\n

The FBI has 55 field offices in major cities across the country and Puerto Rico, and many of these offices are further divided into RAs. These smaller satellite offices cover the same range of investigative responsibilities as their home field office and provide broader regional coverage. The Burlington RA is a satellite office of the Albany Field Office, and the Bedford and Providence RAs are satellite offices of the Boston Field Office.<\/p>\n
