The main event took place at the United Nations Church Center Chapel under the<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">theme, \u201cBuilding Bridges for Peace and Interreligious Harmony.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The purpose of the event was to highlight the role of UN sustainable development goals 16<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">and 17 in achieving sustainable and inclusive peace. The commemoration also sought to<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">promote interreligious harmony and mutual understanding as foundations for peace and to<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">foster partnerships for collaborative peacebuilding.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The event was co-hosted by five organizations: Save the People, United Sikhs, Ananda<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Marga, An-Noor Cultural Center, and Shree Ganesh Mandir. At the end of the main event,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">all five organizations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HWPL with the<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">heart to work together to promote peace and achieve their shared goals and objectives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u201cUpon reviewing and looking at what HWPL stands for, we commend you highly and we<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">appreciate you having us be a part and we willingly signed the MOU because we support<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">from a Hinduism perspective world peace against interreligious faith from different<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">backgrounds and spiritual settings,\u201d said Pandit and Head Spiritual Advisor Yogeshwar<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Narine from Shree Ganesh Mandir.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">The main event and MOU signing ceremony were followed by a peace walk at the Dag<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Hammarskj\u00f6ld Plaza located across from the United Nations. Despite the rain,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">representatives of the organizations co-hosting the event and other notable religious and<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">community leaders took part in the symbolic walk highlighting the need to continue taking<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">steps to achieve sustainable peace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u201cHWPL has an impact not only [in the] United States but the entire whole world and I&#8217;m very<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">happy to see, that is, the effort that has been made in order to bring the peace and the<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">emotion and to touch the emotion of each and every heart and soul,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u201d said Acarya<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Abhiramananda Avadhuta, sectorial secretary of the New York sector of Ananda Marga.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u201cThis today, the event is impactful \u23af the peace walk and all the organizations who have<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">today [an] MOU signed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">HWPL is an international, non-governmental organization promoting peace and cessation<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">of war.
