The FBI Turns 118<\/a><\/h2>\n

Today marks the 118th anniversary of the FBI! Our priorities have evolved since 1908, and today we are more committed than ever to crushing violent crime, defending the homeland, supporting our law enforcement partners, and engaging with the communities we serve. We take pride in upholding the Constitution and protecting Americans, and our important mission will not stop for many more years to<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

July 26 will mark the Bureau\u2019s 118th\u00a0birthday.<\/p>\n

Thank you to the agents, analysts, and staff who\u2019ve\u00a0dedicated themselves to the FBI mission over the years\u2014protecting the American people, upholding the U.S. Constitution,\u00a0and\u00a0working\u00a0tirelessly\u00a0to crush violent crime and defend the homeland from terror, cyber, and intelligence threats.<\/p>\n

The FBI plays a key role in combating violent crimes across our country\u2014and in some cases, abroad\u2014through our investigative work targeting gangs and criminal organizations, violent crimes against children, Indian Country crime, human trafficking and involuntary servitude, bank robbery, and jewelry and gem theft.<\/p>\n

Vance Boelter Sentenced to Two Consecutive Life Terms Plus 40 Years Consecutive for the Stalking and Murder of Minnesota State Legislators
\n<\/strong>Vance Luther Boelter, 58, has been sentenced to two consecutive terms of life plus a consecutive 40-year term for the stalking and murders of Melissa and Mark Hortman and the stalking and attempted murders of Senator John Hoffman, Yvette Hoffman, and Hope Hoffman on June 14, 2025.<\/p>\n
