The Association Ma’onah for Human Rights and Immigration (AMHRI), based in #NewYork City, announced that it is in the final stages of preparing its comprehensive human rights and analytical report on the monitoring of the 2025 municipal electoral process in New York City, as well as in several other cities with significant immigrant population centers, including Hamtramck and Dearborn in the State of Michigan.

Mr. Abdulnasser Al-Masmary, Head of the Electoral Observation Team at AMHRI, explained that the report comes as part of an independent civic monitoring framework adopted by the Association throughout the various phases of the electoral process, which included:
1. Field observation at polling stations during early voting and on Election Day.
2. Tracking and documenting operational observations regarding center management and voter queue procedures.
3. Evaluating the level of language-access equity and the ability of voters from diverse linguistic and cultural communities to obtain necessary election information.
4. Analyzing the role of immigrant communities, civil society organizations, and youth in promoting civic and political participation.

The Association emphasized that the report will address, in a structured and evidence-based manner:
• The degree to which the electoral process adhered to principles of integrity and transparency.
• The impact of linguistic, social, and religious factors on voter decision-making.
• The particular challenges faced by immigrant voters, particularly in neighborhoods with significant Arab, Asian, African, and Latin American populations.
• The growing role of civil society organizations in strengthening political participation among new and emerging communities.

The head of the monitoring team stressed that the objective of the report is not to evaluate election outcomes or endorse any candidate or political party, but rather to promote voter rights awareness and offer recommendations that support the development of inclusive policies ensuring equal opportunity and fair participation for all in public life.

He added that the report will be published in both English and Arabic, and will be released during a press briefing, the date of which will be announced in advance and shared with relevant U.S. media outlets. A digital copy will also be made available to researchers and local and international institutions concerned with electoral processes and human rights.

In conclusion, AMHRI reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its human rights and community-based work in cooperation with local actors in New York, Michigan, and across the United States, in a manner that strengthens the values of civic engagement, inclusive citizenship, and positive social integration.
