LT Chris White Graduates from FBI National Academy

(Tybee Island, GA) – On Monday, December 15, 2025, Chief Tiffany Hayes announced that Lieutenant Chris White has graduated as a member of the 296th session of the FBI National Academy. The graduation took place at the National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, on December 11th. Lieutenant White is the 4th officer in department history to complete this prestigious program. Nationally, fewer than one percent of officers has the opportunity to attend.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers 11 weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training. Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend. On average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive level positions.
The 296th session consisted of two hundred and fifty-four law enforcement officers from 47 states and the District of Columbia. The class also included members from 24 countries, 4 military organizations, and 2 Federal civilian organizations.
A veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and Army, Lieutenant Chris White was deployed twice to Iraq. During his 18-year law enforcement career, he has worked for the Laguna Tribal Police Department in New Mexico, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia, and our very own Tybee Island Police Department. In addition to being an FBI National Academy graduate, White holds a Master’s Degree from Columbus State University.
He is currently assigned as our Patrol Division Commander and Training Unit Supervisor.
