‏🔴 AMHRI Condemns the Human Rights Council’s Failure to Establish an International Commission of Inquiry on Yemen and Warns of Converging Saudi–Iranian Interests in Obstructing UN Accountability.

‏📍 New York – Geneva | 7 October 2026

‏The Association Ma’onah for Human Rights and Immigration (AMHRI) expresses profound disappointment over the UN Human Rights Council’s decision at its 63rd session to maintain Yemen under Agenda Item 10 on technical assistance, without establishing an independent international mechanism to investigate grave violations and ensure accountability for all domestic and external parties.

‏AMHRI warns that converging Saudi–Iranian interests in maintaining the national investigative mechanism raise serious concerns about the obstruction of international accountability for regional involvement in Yemen.

‏The Association reiterates the demands presented in its 5 October 2026 oral statement, delivered before the Council by its representative, Ms. Noura Al-Jarawi, calling for an independent and comprehensive UN investigation into violations committed by all parties without exception.

‏AMHRI thanks the European Union Delegation in Geneva and States supporting stronger independent monitoring and accountability, particularly Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Albania, and Estonia.

‏AMHRI calls for a special session of the Human Rights Council and the establishment of a comprehensive UN commission of inquiry. Justice for Yemeni victims must never be sacrificed to regional political interests.

‏⚖️ No immunity for any party. No sustainable peace without justice and accountability.
