AMHRI Releases Daily Human Rights Report, Warns of Escalating Military and Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen and the Region

New York – 12 October 2026

The Association Ma’onah for Human Rights and Immigration (AMHRI), an organization holding Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), has released its daily human rights monitoring report in Arabic and English, covering military developments, humanitarian conditions, and reported violations in Yemen and the wider region through 8:52 PM New York time.

The report documents continued cross-border Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, the extension of the closure of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, reports of airstrikes and civilian casualties in Sana’a and Al-Jawf, and ongoing military operations associated with “Operation Dawn of Yemen” along the Taiz frontlines, the western coast, and the Bab al-Mandab area.

The report warns of worsening humanitarian conditions, including the risks of siege, counter-siege, starvation, and mass displacement. Citing United Nations data, it notes that more than 217,000 people have reportedly been displaced since the escalation along Yemen’s western coast, approximately 143,000 people have received emergency humanitarian assistance, and 72% of safe spaces for women and girls have closed due to funding shortages.

The report also examines attacks against commercial vessels near the Strait of Hormuz, the deadly migrant boat disaster along the Djibouti–Yemen route, the situation of detainees and humanitarian personnel, regional tensions, and external military support. It emphasizes the need for independent verification of reported incidents and allegations and for determining responsibility in accordance with international law.

AMHRI strongly condemns all unlawful attacks against civilians and civilian objects, regardless of the perpetrators, and calls for civilian protection, the opening of roads and humanitarian corridors, and an immediate end to practices that expose civilian populations to starvation or collective punishment.

The Association renews its call for an urgent Special Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on Yemen and the establishment of an independent, impartial, and comprehensive international investigative mechanism to investigate violations committed by all parties to the conflict, including relevant regional supporters where responsibility is established, without exception or selectivity.

Such a mechanism is essential to ensuring accountability, securing justice for victims, and preventing impunity.
