AMHRI Releases Daily Human Rights Monitoring Report on Yemen and the Region, Calls for Comprehensive International Investigation into Violations by All Parties

New York | 13 October 2026

The Association Ma’onah for Human Rights and Immigration (AMHRI) has released its Daily Human Rights Monitoring Report on Yemen and the Region, documenting reported military developments, humanitarian concerns, and alleged violations of international human rights and humanitarian law, together with preliminary legal assessments of the responsibilities of domestic and regional actors.

The report highlights airstrikes against fuel facilities in Sana’a and Hudaydah, attacks attributed to the Houthi movement against Saudi facilities, risks to civilian lives, and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Taiz amid hostilities and restrictions on essential supply routes. It also addresses continuing threats to commercial shipping in the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Arabian Gulf.

In a significant human rights development, AMHRI welcomed the statement by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk calling for investigations into attacks against civilians and other alleged violations, and for those responsible to be held accountable. The Association considers the statement a meaningful endorsement of the principles underlying its longstanding advocacy for accountability and an end to impunity.

AMHRI renewed its call on the United Nations Human Rights Council to establish a comprehensive, independent, and impartial international commission of inquiry into the situation in Yemen and its regional repercussions, covering all parties to the conflict and external actors whose responsibility is established by evidence.

Such a mechanism should be mandated to investigate serious violations, collect and preserve evidence, protect victims and witnesses, and safeguard victims’ rights to truth, justice, reparation, and compensation.

The Association emphasized that civilian protection and accountability must apply to all parties without exception or selectivity. Support for the constitutional legitimacy of the Yemeni State and opposition to the Houthi coup must not shield any party from independent investigation or legal accountability.
